Updated Pre-Departure Testing Requirements for Entry into Singapore
27 May 2021
The Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that with effect from 29 May 2021, 2359 hours (Singapore time), all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) in India who are entering or transiting through Singapore are required to present a valid negative COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours before their departure to Singapore.
This is a pre-requisite before passengers will be allowed to board their flights to Singapore. All travellers will also be required to present their valid COVID-19 PCR test result upon arrival in Singapore. Travellers who arrive in Singapore without a valid negative test result may be denied entry into Singapore. PRs who fail to comply with the new requirement may have their re-entry permit cancelled. This measure is meant to mitigate the risk of imported cases and onward transmission within the local community in Singapore in view of the worsening global COVID-19 situation in recent weeks.
